American Legion Post 203 Meetings

Post meetings are held on the third Thursday most months. Check the Calendar to confirm Post meeting dates and locations.

Post meetings are an opportunity for veterans to gather and exchange fellowship and support while conducting the monthly business of Post 203.

Adjutant Recognized for Contributions to American Legion Post 203

April 21, 2022 

Chris Mehringer has served as Post 203 Adjutant since 2001. The adjutant is the heart of the post, making sure post communication, finances, and logistics are all in order. To acknowledge his service, he was presented with a wooden pen mounted on a plaque. 

Bravo Zulu, Chris for a job well done.

American Legion Nebraska District 9 Meeting 2022

March 19, 2022 at 0830 to 1600

The American Legion Membership of District 9 will be invited to meet at the Red Willow County Fairgrounds (1412 W 5th St, McCook, NE 69001) for guest speakers, meetings, food, and fellowship. Legion Post 203 will host.

Guest Speakers include: Nebraska State Commander, Dan Benes; Kansas State Commander, Marra Krupco; and Nebraska Department Service Officer, Levi Bennett.

American Legion Scholarship

March 1, 2022

Post 203 awards 1 $500 scholarship to a graduating senior to be used for college studies.

Applications are available March 1, 2022. To receive consideration, applications must be submitted no later than May 1, 2022 by email to Post Adjutant at: mccooklegionpost203@yahoo.com.

American Legion Cornerstone Award

October 25, 2021 at 1900

Each Post Commander, Auxiliary President, SAL Squadron Commander, and Legion Rider Chapter Director is requested to recommend a member who has done outstanding work for the American Legion Family. The recipient of the award will take possession of the traveling trophy, which is to be displayed at the Post/Unit until the next recipient is named. To receive consideration, applications must be submitted no later than March 1, 2022. Instruction ma be found on the nomination form.
